Privacy Policy
Plain language. No legalese. We built this for hams, not lawyers.

The short version: We don't collect your data, we don't store it, we don't sell it, and we never will. This site is a free tool built by a ham for hams. Full stop.

📡 What This Site Is

Routersandrepeaters.net is a free amateur radio travel tool, supported by advertising, operated by AA4TE, licensed in Camden, South Carolina. The site helps traveling amateur radio operators find repeaters along major US highway corridors, locate hamfests, and reference radio programming procedures.

The site is free to all users and supported by advertising from companies serving the amateur radio community. It is operated as a public service to the ham radio community.

🔒 Data We Do NOT Collect

This site does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

— Your name, callsign, email address, or any personal identifier
— Your location or GPS coordinates (the Highway Finder uses your browser's location API only within your browser — nothing is sent to our servers)
— Your browsing history, search queries, or how you use the site
— Cookies, tracking pixels, or persistent identifiers of any kind
— Device fingerprints, IP addresses, or behavioral analytics

📬 The Contact Form

The contact form on the home page sends your name, email address, and message directly to repeaters@routersandrepeaters.net via a Cloudflare Worker and the Resend email delivery service. Your message is delivered to our inbox exactly like any other email.

Nothing is stored on our servers. The Worker processes your submission in memory and forwards it — no database, no log file, no record. Resend retains delivery logs per their own privacy policy at resend.com/privacy.

We use your contact information only to respond to your message. We do not add you to any mailing list, share your information with third parties, or retain it beyond the email thread.

📍 Location / GPS

The Highway Finder offers an optional "My Location" button that uses your browser's built-in Geolocation API. If you grant permission, your coordinates are used locally within your browser to find the nearest waypoint city. Your location is never transmitted to our servers.

You can use the site entirely without granting location access — simply tap a city button instead.

💾 Local Storage

The site uses your browser's localStorage — storage that lives entirely on your own device — to remember two preferences: Night Mode on/off and Large Print on/off. This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

No cookies are set. No session data is transmitted.

🔗 External Links and Sponsors

The site may contain links to external websites including hamfest organizers, equipment retailers, sponsor pages, and other amateur radio resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies before submitting any personal information.

Any advertising partners displayed on this site have their own privacy policies governing their banner content and any links followed from those banners. We select sponsors who serve the amateur radio community and do not permit advertisers to collect data through placements on this site.

👶 Children's Privacy

This site is a technical reference tool for licensed amateur radio operators. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from minors. FCC amateur radio licensing requires applicants to provide their own information directly to the FCC — nothing on this site facilitates that process.

🔄 Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the date at the bottom of this page and note the change. Since we don't collect data, meaningful changes would only occur if we add new features that involve data handling — in which case we will describe exactly what changes and why.
